Meet the Doctors of Creating Wellness at Innate Chiropractic

Meet South Portland chiropractor Dr. Lizette Eckert.

One of Dr. Lizette's best attributes is the depth of her caring. She truly understands and empathizes with her clients concerns and wants to help make a difference in their lives. She is one of the few chiropractors in the Portland area with post-graduate training in pregnancy and pediatric care and these are some of her favorite practice members.

Having grown up in a chiropractic household, she truly understands the difference chiropractic can make in those who get adjusted regularly from birth and make it an integral part of their wellness strategy for a lifetime.

Dr. Lizette attended Blackhawk College for her undergraduate work where she had a 4.0 GPA. She went on to follow in her father's footsteps attending Palmer College of Chiropractic and graduating Magna Cum Laude and 4th in her class of 170.

Dr. Lizette Eckert is also an active member in the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), International Chiropractic Association (ICA), ICA Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics, the Chiropractic Leadership Alliance (CLA) and the Creating Wellness Alliance.

Meet South Portland chiropractor Dr. James Eckert.

Dr. Jim Eckert has learned that it's not knowledge alone which makes the difference in life and health, it's the wisdom to understand the whole picture. Knowledge without wisdom is dangerous. He strives to understand information by viewing it through a window of wisdom. His philosophy towards life and health is what sets him apart from other doctors.

Dr. Eckert earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pre-med/Biology from Gannon University in Erie, Pa. He did his postgraduate work at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa graduating cum laude with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Dr. Jim Eckert is also an active member in the International Chiropractic Association (ICA), ICA Council on Philosophy, the Chiropractic Leadership Alliance (CLA) and the Creating Wellness Alliance.

Dr. Jim Asks some important questions of interest to South Portland residents - Chiropractor South Portland Dr. Jim Asks...

Why is a "slipped disc" unlikely?
Separating each spinal vertebra is a disc. Its fibrous outer ring holds in a jelly-like material. Because of the way a disc attaches to the spinal bones above and below it, it can't actually "slip." However, a disc can bulge, tear, herniate, thin and collapse. But it can't slip.
How come medical doctors don't recommend chiropractic?
That's changing. Years of prejudice and bias are giving way to research showing the benefits of chiropractic care. As more and more South Portland folks seek alternatives to drugs and surgery, more and more medical practitioners are referring their patients to chiropractors.
